What is Mentoplasty/Genioplasty
These are procedures that transform the shape of the mentum. Through mentoplasty (chin reduction), a wide mentum (with a masculine feeling) is converted into a narrow mentum (with a feminine feeling). A receded chin is pulled forward in harmony with a facial ratio in genioplasty (chin augmentation), or a protruded chin is reduced by mentoplasty.
Conditions requiring Mentoplasty/Genioplasty
Cases with a long chin, showing a wide large lower face
Cases with a stumpy chin,
who wish to improve
maximally to gain a slim
chin.
Cases where lower chin has
not grown properly
and is receded
Cases where the line
connecting from the lips
to the mentum forms
an oblique line on a
lateral view
Cases with a mouth that cannot close properly when laughing
